Dear Friends and Family,
Happy Holidays!!
We hope this holiday season finds you and your family in good health and with much happiness in your lives.
Like you it has been a very busy year for us with major changes and many challenges.
During September Nicole and Matt both made career moves which impacted their families.
Colton has started preschool and continues to be excited about everything.
Our main job was spent on updating our house
(with the help of brother Dan and friend/interior decorator Janelle).

Matt was hired as an Industrial Engineer for Amazon Logistics Technology in Seattle.
With assistance from Amazon, by October Katie and Matt had quit their jobs in Portland, packed,
sold their Portland house, and moved into temporary housing in Seattle.
Matt started at Amazon during its busiest time, which meant 12-16 hour days and nights
while Katie found and set up their household in a condo in Ballard.
She has already painted and it looks like they have been there forever. No big surprise.

Their dog "Wrigley" is adjusting well. He has a park a block away and met his cousin
"Nash" who is introducing him to Seattle dog culture (swimming and restaurants).
At this moment Katie and Matt are enjoying Cancun, Mexico
where they both are in a wedding December 14th.
Good time to get out of the below freezing temperatures here.

Nick is still enjoying the continuous challenges of Oracle.
He is still traveling and working long hours (luckily many at home).
Nicole started at Sportswear Inc. (www.prepsportswear.com) where she is the Digital Marketing Manager.
It is amazing how all her experiences and skill sets are being incorporated in this new job.
She has been able to retain her shortened work week so she can spend time with Colton.
Her top priority is Colton and she savors every moment with him.

Colton is such a joy. We love and cherish our time with him.
He is so much fun and LOVES TO PLAY.
Nick and Colton's imaginative games, plays and challenges are mesmerizing to observe.
We were very fortunate to tag along on a Cary Family vacation to Miami in August.
Not only did the five cousins (Tyler, Lathan, Mika, Quinn & Colton)
get to play/swim in South Beach, the Everglades and Key Biscayne
but we got to have four days with Colton in Disney World.
Nothing better than four adults and one 3 year old in the
Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Epcot and Disney Hollywood Studios.
We had a ball and Colton only wished he was taller.

Any free time we had this past year was spent organizing and fixing up our house.
Brother Dan and friend/interior designer Janelle had the vision of what we should do.
With their direction and help we still are not done but getting closer.
Don't know if we should thank them or ?!#X!? them. Hopefully it will be completed by next Christmas.
In May/June a last minute travel opportunity appeared where we spent 4 days on Long Island, NY;
drove the countryside of England & Wales for 9 days; cruised around the UK for 14 days;
spent 9 days driving/biking the countryside of France/Paris and
1 day in Salem, Mass. Great trip, incredible weather.
Dealing with Bill's Parkinson continues.
What he wouldn't give to have any time to actually feel "normal" without drugs or PD. Just "normal".
On March 19th Bill had his second partial knee replacement surgery. He was thrilled to have it done.
Our doctors are amazing and REALLY know and understand Bill.
We have about 4 new game plans that we are all on board with. We are so thankful.
We did have to buy a wheelchair in York, England; crutches in Canterbury and knee wrap in Dover.
We thought Bill's issue was his knee but we found out his DBS battery had stopped working.
He had DBS replacement surgery June 27th. This one should last for the next 2-5 years.
This past year Bill has returned to the hitting on the tennis court while restricting his movement.
He loves it and it has worked well. Yea! We still bike as much as possible whenever and wherever possible.
For us 2014 will be adjusting to all 5+2
(Nick, Nicole, Matt, Katie and Colton + Nash and Wrigley) living in Seattle.
It is nice that they are in the same place which will result in many adventures.
We are also thrilled that they are all challenged in their jobs which
are pushing them further into the world of technology and programming. Yea!!!!
We sincerely hope you have the time to enjoy these holidays
in the manner most meaningful to you and your family.
Happy Holidays!!
