HAPPY HOLIDAYS 2017
HAPPY HOLIDAYS 2017
We hope this holiday season finds you and your family in good health
and with much happiness in your lives.
During 2017 we have focused on Colton, Cameron and Joseph.
Just “being” with them is our greatest joy.
All three are very active, constantly striving for the next skill,
and learning from trial and error how to get things their own way,
Each one has a unique incredible personality.
(Bare with us… we are the grandparents.)
Each visit we are constantly amazed at how fast they have become little people.
We are definitely out of the baby era and
now dealing with each of their fierce independent spirit.
We are soooo lucky to be able to enjoy “time” with them.
Nick, Nicole, Matt and Katie all appreciate their jobs
and are lucky to be working where their employers accommodate family life.
They can all work from home at times and change their hours, much easier than we could.
Matt and Katie moved into a larger child friendly home in Bothell with
an incredible kitchen... which makes them all very happy.
Colton started 1st Grade at Enatai which is two blocks from their house.
It has a great neighborhood and family culture;
he works (manipulates) on getting/having a play date everyday.
He loves his teacher, is still doing Kumon in reading and math,
and is in almost every sport available. He never wants or has a dull moment.
Cami and Joseph have spent the year becoming “aware”. Now that they are…
they both want to do everything immediately and their way.
They are very dangerous.
Nash and Wrigley are aging as well as still adjusting to the new pecking order,
but the love, patience and protection they provide is priceless.
While in Portland we still work on our home, go to medical appointments,
exercise, bike ride, play tennis, golf (Bill does driving range & movies with friends),
hike (if we can) and visit the zoo as much as possible.
We never know who is going to make our day but usually it is either
Tuff, Zuri, Ruka, Bubbles or Poppi. We are so lucky to be close to the zoo.
Opportunity presented itself and we “apprehensively” chose to cruise South America
from Santiago, Chile to Buenos Aires, Argentina. WE LOVED IT.
We just weren’t sure… about many things and had concerns.
Man oh Man… it was way beyond our expectations.
So many highlights and what we call “finds”….
The King, Magellanic and Gentoo Penguin colonies at Volunteer Point
in the Falkland Islands were beyond belief… and it was >70 Degrees.
It was all amazing.
Bill continues his Parkinson's journey.
He would give ANYTHING to feel “normal” for more than 2 hours.
His determined defiance has worked for him.
The decades use of the same drugs with side effects has lessened their effectiveness.
We have had to modify most of everything we do, but we are determined to do as much as we can.
His Kaiser teams are still an incredible support,
and continue being creative and finding new resources for him to try.
At his last appointment his neurologist was amazed at his movement.
(It was within his "on" 2 hour time period).
We continue to appreciate them sooooo much.
We wish you and your family Happy Holidays and a great 2018.
