The Fifth Courtyard has a great view of Burghausen Altstadt and the Salzach River. The main Tower here is the Gardener's Tower which also served as a look out. In this courtyard can be found the old Tax Office, which is the large white building, where the tax payments of corn, wine and oil were stored. Also a small Gothic style chapel which was built between 1480 and 1490 is here. It was donated by George the Rich and Princess Hedwig in honor of their marriage. Inside the Chapel besides a relief in honor of George and Hedwig there are also loopholes in the castle wall, where arrows or whatever could be fired out of.
