HAPPY HOLIDAYS 2019
HAPPY HOLIDAYS 2019
We hope this holiday season finds you and your family in good health
and with much happiness in your lives.
LIFE... has continued to keep us soooo busy.. Still trying to catch up... but in a better place.
Our kids and their families are wonderful and we are soooo grateful they keep us in their lives.
So proud of each of them and the people they are and becoming. Everyone is thriving.
Fun to be on the sidelines and just enjoying them.
Never in a million years would either of us have dreamt our life would have included most of our experiences.
Most have been beyond our comprehension. Obviously medical has driven almost everything.
We are sooooooooo thankful that all the medical staffs have been so supportive, challenging and encouraging.
They really "get" Bill and "us" and have his best interest at heart.
For the last several years they have been very FIRM with him, leaving me to be the "good guy"
(a position I have never held).
Bill is totally off one medication that he has taken close to 20 years (the Ugly Drug)
and now takes 1/3 the amount of his PD drug which he has taken over 20 years.
Traveling provided the necessary distraction and setting
and he provided the needed determination, patience and tolerance to make this happen.
Every hour is a challenge... might not look like it.... but believe us it is.
As I said before he would give anything to feel "normal" for ANY length of time.
Bill's mom who also had Parkinsons (like Bill's dad) passed away in April 2018.
This was obviously too close for comfort and a very difficult time for Bill.
Traveling, planning, learning, exploring, getting outside ourselves
and seeing how beautiful and wonderful our world is has been our saving grace.
We are both exactly in the same place at the same time while traveling...
(living in the moment, immediate gratification of our senses, seeing new things, etc).
In a nutshell... 2017 introduced us to the Southern Hemisphere (South America).
2018 we ventured to New Zealand & Australia (Sydney, Melbourne, Aus Open),
loved it but didn't see enough, so went back in 2019
(Melbourne, Aus Open, Sunshine Coast, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Papau New Guinea,
Conflict Islands, Barrier Reef & Fiji).
This trip and a Burghausen trip were finalized by November 2018.
I knew we needed to get back to Burghausen while Bill could travel
(we just added Krakow, London and Norway).
Burghausen truly has a huge piece of our heart... for one week we were so busy visiting friends and
treasured places that we only got to "our" castle one time.... but what a time it was.
Gertraud T knew everyone living there, it was truly a very magical, treasured time.
Like wise our experiences with the Kramers and Kershners were and are among our most cherished memories ever.
Thank You! Thank You! Thank You!
We wish you and your family Happy Holidays and a great 2020.
